Hey Ron Paul-ies, ease up a little

This’ll probably result in Paul-ies (Ron Paul groupies) storming the comments, but I had to share this. You’ve seen videos and praise of the Presidential hopeful on Digg and all the other game-able networks, but this one takes the cake.

Get your ballot ready, as I present, the Ron Paul rEVOlution brushes. Yes brushes. As in little headshots of Ron Paul that you would use in Photoshop or Illustrator.

Being that I’m writing about this “viral marketing” you can label it as that, but I mean, come on, brushes?!?

What ever happened to relevancy in communications? Will graphic designers be the deciding factor in next year’s election. We’ll just have to wait and see. (ftw)

    Many people try not to judge people based on pre-conceived stereo-types, etc. You obviously make no such effort.

    No, I’m not a “Ron Paul-ie” and I object to cults in general.

    Being that I don’t live in America, the candidates and eventual winner, aren’t too high on my concern list.

    If you wanted to label me as judgmental, feel free to do so from a marketing standpoint. I’m cool with that.

    Marketers need to be judgmental. If you can’t rely on your gut, experience, and opnions (and then be confident enough to communicate them) than you’re pretty much a 3-legged horse.

    On the Ron Paul note… yeah, brushes are weak.

    This is a good thing for Paul - people want to contribute to his campaign anyway they can. Photoshop brushes may seem somewhat pointless to you (and sort of to me as well), but the creator of them is doing what he can for Paul. I am guessing Paul neither commissioned or asked for the work, nor will he pay a cent for it, yet someone took the time to do it.

    You should be concerned - America’s current foreign policy affects the entire world for the worse. With Paul at the helm, that would be unlikely to be the case.

    As far a marketing goes, the bushes you mention are not that distastefull. Actually, as a professional 3d artist and a Ron Paul supporter I see it not only harmless but also usefull. You can’t pigeon hole RP supporters as crazy rednecks. We want to be the real beacon on the hill in america and we’re simply not willing to live subjected to a socialist world government.
