Anyone else have an ING Direct savings/checking account? I just enrolled and made the initial deposit in a new ING Savings. 4.5% interest rate - whoops the shit out of my current savings account at WAMU.

The ING Canada Investment Savings Account only gives 3.5%. They're doing a promotion for a month or so at 4.25%, but still interesting that you guys get an extra 1 to 2.5%.

You're right Travis. The Americans always have a much better rate. I actually took most of my savings out of ING a couple of days ago and put it in Icicibank. They only pay 0.25% more for cdn savings but they have a USD dollar savings accounts which pays 4.25%. The dollar is cheap now plus I get it at a discount (perks to being a bank employee) so it was a no brainer.

I just opened up a Presidents Choice savings account. Interest rate at 4.0% with no bank fees...at all. Free cheques, free accounts, no hidden fees.

    No ING Direct.

I went with HSBC and tapped into the 5.6% they were bragging about. Upside: I get an ATM card (not that I'm going to be using it much).
Downside: HSBC is more prevalent in Europe, but who cares - the money is just going to sit.
