It looks like I'm not the only one who redesigned! Fab job on the new YGG design and color scheme. I'm really digging it.

    Here's mine... Hope you like!

Wow, huge difference. Looks great, as always. This is going to take a moment to adjust to, lol. Great job.

Instantly made me think of Verbalized - For no reason other than the background.

Looks good though, really neat, organised and simple to get around. Definately a good move!

Looks great. I'm assuming you're using Wordpress? I'm working on a redesign of my blog, and while it's not laid out the same, it's a similar concept with preview posts on the homepage. Are you just using the thumb for the article as the feature image?

The way I have mine setup, I need this tied into each post:

    1) A 2-4 word title
    2) A large image
    3) A smaller image
    4) A short description
    5) A regular title

Hopefully it's not too hard for me to do all this :) I'm getting pretty close to finalizing the design (I'll post a new thread soon), so now I'm starting to look at technical limitations. Any advice would be much appreciated as I'm no PHP guru.

Terry is using Wordpress at Kineda.

It shouldn't be too difficult to build a similar magazine style layout.

Are you manually managing the landing page Terry? Adding new articles once they're posted? Or is it all automated?

I'd be interested to hear how you call on the thumbnails.

Hey Travis... it's all automated. During the post process, the homepage pulls in the copy using the except tag, and adds an auto-cropped thumbnail with corresponding post ID. Took me a while to get it all programmed last year (it's not new, since I used it in my last design), but works pretty simply.

Any plans on releasing the old theme, open-source?

My plan was to do so, but several companies offered to purchase the theme, so I won't be able to distribute it anymore.

Wow. That's great. If you're able to let us know who ends up using it, please do.

Nice Terry!! It looks good - clean styles. I'm so glad the era of everything-in-your-face websites are gone.
