Hi fellow Go Getters,
My name is Paul Ocal. I just found this site and let me tell you, its a gem! It inspired me to finally embark on starting my very own freelance web design studio. I am currently attending UC Irvine in Orange County, CA, majoring in Engineering and Economics. I want to pursue a career in marketing and pick up an MBA.
My have named my design studio FuseFusion. There is really no meaning behind it, it just sounded cool to me. What are your thoughts? I am working on putting my portfolio together. I currently have 3 projects completed and ready to put in my portfolio. I was wondering if this is enough to start fishing for clients.
I know I can definitely contribute a lot to these forums because I have a lot of web design experience.
Anyway, im off to bed :D

Fusion,
Welcome aboard. I cannot relate to you in regards to web-design, but possibly in your engineering field. Have you chosen a direction in engineering, Mechanical or Electrical?

It's great to have you on YGG Paul. Three is a good number to start shopping your book around. Get a fantastic site/blog/portfolio together for FuseFusion. Do whatever you can to take advantage of all the css galleries and the tens of thousands of visitors that come with them.
Once you have a business plan and pricing strategy together, contact anyone you'd love to design a site for and see what they say.

Thanks for the support!
One question, whats a good pricing strategy to start with? I dont like doing work by the hour just because I suck at tracking hours. I know there are great tools for this but I still cant. :D
And is a blog really a must? I put thought into it, but writing is just not my thing. Not so much the writing, but coming up with things to write about...
Once again, thanks for all the support and help! These forums are awesome.
