Not sure if we've had a thread like this already but...
I got a new laptop today! Dead excited, and love setting it all up! I was thinking that we could post our computer setup (specs etc) just how those affiliate marketing people are doing.
I'll go first:

I've actually thought about it more that I've got Windows Vista. I mean, Vista is nice, but already I've had some problems which needed driver updates, and little mods - and then Vista started having problems booting up - but maybe that's just me being a hardcore torrenter and downloading too much crap.
I'll have to try a MacBook out one day...

Main computer = 13" Macbook + 19" secondary LCD
Old dust collecting piece of shit = Dell XPS desktop, 3.2 GHZ, 2 GB, etc, etc... (haven't used once since I bought my Macbook)
Will never buy another Windows PC in my life if I can help it. Fully converted to Mac.

Why you gotta hate on macs? Whats so noobish about it? Its simplicity and ease of use? I hate it when people just hate. I used to hate macs hardcore! I got one and now i dont think ill ever go back to the darkside.

BMW and Ford scam their customers too. You just have to be smart enough to go to an independent mechanic or parts shop instead of to the "stealer".
Everyone can get ripped off if they're a blind consumer - but that's their own damn fault. Companies are just trying to be profitable, how can you fault them for that? Their stock is performing well and their investors are basking in gains.
I don't care if I had to spend double on this MacBook Pro, I'd do it in a heart beat. I reboot about once a week (and only because I feel I should). I never have any spyware/virus problems. I've never had to reformat a hard drive (Format C: and crying about it is a thing of the past). It works and it works well without any headache.
I don't hate on Microsoft or PC's. Apple has just put out a better product, plain and simple.
May I ask...how does a laptop screen look gay?

Mac Hardware is great, OS is not so great.
I agree with cashprior, mac's are for noobs, and I don't mean that in a bad way, they are for people who want everything with ease and don't have to change any settings.
I work on both Windows XP and Vista, and top of the range Macs daily.
I would always have to have a Windows OS somewhere just cause I cant do everything I want and need to do in the same time on a Mac OS.
It's good that the Mac's can now run Windows :)My windows setup is setup with performance in mind, the only computer i know set up and running so well is my home PC and work PC, everyone i see running windows has it running slow, junk everywhere, sypware and just heaps of shit...
I normally say windows are for power users.

I never reboot, only time this computer has been turned off is cause the power has been cut. I never had any spyware/virus problems, never had to format. I'm the opposite, i believe windows is a better product, both as a product and price.
I study graphic Design at uni, and all we use is mac, I'm surrounded by Mac fans. At uni having a Mac is seen more as a fashion item... which I see as just stupid... That's the great marketing by Apple.
Working in graphic design i see more Mac's then PC's and i think to my self all the time that my PC can do exactly the same or better then every Mac made.
It should really be a 50/50 battle, each to there own.

GeForce 8800 GT (i don't play games)

This is an ongoing battle which comes down to preference. I consider myself a power user (i had my first pc when I was 6) and have been using windows for the past 15 years. I'm the guy that people come to for computer help. I switched to mac a year and a half ago just because they looked sexy. Its been more efficient in every way possible.
The reason I absolutely LOVE my mac is the fact that I dont have to do any maintenance to make sure it runs fine. I dont need Norton hogging my system memory, I dont need to run spyware checks every week, I dont need to worry about how many files I have scattered across my hard drive, I dont have to worry about anything. I just turn it on and immediately get to work. Prior to my macbook, I had a Vaio with about the same specs if not better and jesus, windows sucked at managing resources. Programs hogged more memory, the os hogged memory, everything was just crap. Life is so much easier with a mac. It does have its downfalls at times, but the downfalls of windows FAR outweigh those of the mac.
Also, you gotta hand it to apple. They make things look BEAUTIFUL. From the hardware to the operating system, i still get wowed to this day. Everything is beautiful man.
