I just launched my newest website project called Literature For All (http://www.literatureforall.com).

Literature For All is the newest and fastest growing free literature resource on the internet! Literature For All has been developed from a previous website that had been abandon a litle over a year ago. You could call it a reincarnation if you wish. Here at our website, we strive to offer to our readers only the top quality literature and for the best price - FREE.

Please check out the site, forums, and blog and let me know if you run into any troubles! Also feel free to give a click or two on the ads :-)

Thanks!

It would of been really cool if you built it in wiki-type structure. Except no user editing. It has potential, but in my opinion a long way to go. Depending on how it is constructed, of course.

Thanks for the comments. We didnt want to do it wiki style or something of the sort because we pride ourselves on being an exclusive literature resource meaning that all literature is submitted to us, read/editted, and then accepted. There is no guarentee that you literature will be accepted, although just about everything has been.

I have enough literature to update the site with 30 pieces per month and last for 10 months before actually having to go out and find more authors.

The potential on this site is huge. We are already planning the next phases of it including different subscriber options and benefits to being a subscriber as opposed to just a free reader. The Google AdSense payout is really high on a lot of the literature related ads that come up as well :-)

Thanks again for your comments.

Thats what I meant with no user editing. I'm not saying to adopt the wiki-system but to adopt the wiki-style. It would probably make your site more minimalistic and something fundamentally built around the writings.

Things that I would do (not saying you should do this) is first of all paraphrase your front page and use the front page as a type of UI for the writings i.e. new writings, featured writings etc. I would also create a better categorization system and put the search function on the front page. I would also include an option to search by keywords, meaning if someone is looking a love poem or story they simply type in love and the results are writings about love.

I was also thinking about what if people would like to save a writing for future reference? I would create an option for a printable version and maybe a copy in pdf format. I would also make the site look more established and contemporary, not saying it isn't but there is always room for improvement.

That's all I have for now. I like it overall.

I'm not a big fan of the Google ads being on a simple site like yours. I think they're more acceptable on a long format site, like a blog or news website. But I did give you three clicks worth of Adsense moolah.

Adsense is a tricky beast. Implement it correctly and it'll work wonders. Whack it all over the site and your site comes off feeling like spam.

It's something I'm working on at the moment. We've designed to only put it into the fashion blog for the timebeing as it is the area with the most content and should actually be of quality to the site that way :)

That said, I think you've implemented them quite well into Literature For All :)

Yea I am trying to decide if I am going to keep them on every page except for the actual literature or skim it down some...I have been told by a few people that they didnt even notice them at first becuase they blended in so well.

Thanks for the clicks, you got me 42 cents!

I really like it, however; I agree the AdSense is a bit overwhelming to me.

I'm excited to read what you post up there, it's an interesting concept!

I think I see where you are coming from with this...

I have been considering the idea of putting up two tables on the front page displaying the newest added stories with links to them as well as some featured stories like you mentioned. I think that this will grab peoples attention to reading those and hopefully introduce them to the rest of the site. The original site was broken down into more section of literature such as non fiction, fiction, fantasy, etc etc. I am eventually going to be breaking it back down into these, just in small steps. I like your idea on breaking the search up into keyword options as well. It is somthing I will consider. I am also probabaly going to add it to the front page.

I like the idea of a printable version, is it a lot of work to do something like this or can it be done with an easy script? I have not tried something like that. As far as PDFs, I dont know if I want to take it that far or not.

Over the next couple months we are going to be making A LOT of changes to the site. Things include:
-paid membership area: allows you to book mark your favorite stories, download podcast audio versions of the stories, and a couple other things
-a TON more literature
-new featured authors
-print publishing opportunities
-new blog design
-new forum skin
-heavy advertising campaign
-paid/sponsored advertisers

Thanks again for the comments everyone! Keep them coming!

I dont think the adsense it to much at all, I barely noticed it at first, I mean it would proly make more money if it was on the longer pages of the site but, as it is now its not bothering me from navigating well, its not popping out to avoid me from the main focus of reading through all the literature.
