Advertising & Marketing: VLC - Viral Video Learning Center

Just saw a commercial for the Viral Video Learning Center. It's by far one of the worst commercials I've ever seen...and it's so full of shit. It came on during A&E's presentation of A Few Good Men. What world are these people living in?!

Ironic that they got you talking about it...

Somewhat ironic, although it's still not working. They're such a joke and it was such a crappy ad that sure, I'll share THEIR video, but I would never, ever, sign up to take their class. They're not making any money off of me, and I'm willing to bet they wont make money off of you or anyone else at YGG.

That can't be real - seriously. I mean "hurting others, hurting animals, working with excrement and vomit"... no way that is a real ad. One of the testimonials references "having to do nasty things for money" before the VLC, and in the library (when they're talking to the guy in the pink shirt) the shelves are labeled "action" and "porn". I mean, this has to be a joke - right? Or did they really make that ad as a serious attempt to promote "the VLC"? I hope not...

I think it's a serious ad to get ppl talking.

Yeah, it's not real. It's a promo spot for Ziddio.com. It could have been funnier if it wasn't so forced and scripted.
I think I plugged this video on here before, but it's still a great example of the type of videos that go viral, Let's Paint, Exercise & Blend Drinks. Jumping on people like that, the Blendtec guy, lonelygirl, etc... and associating them with your brand for a quick PR fix is a good way to get some attention if they don't go against your brand standards. But it's quick, weeks, not long term.
Geico has done that over and over, grabbing d list pop culture stars at their peak of brief popularity, and its worked wonders for them.

So they are actually paying for 30 second ad spots advertising VLC but that's not even a real deal?
Honestly I didn't watch the YouTube one, I just saw the 30 second one on the TV which made no mention of porn and all that other stuff, so I was confused when I read those posts. The one they play on TV really does look like they're advertising a "Devry" type computer school, but for viral video training.
Interesting...
