    Auto Biz This Week

    1. Busy, but not in the profitable sense. This week we spent fine tuning and preparing/fixing little things on the cars to make them perfectly sellable.

    2. Difficulties: Rear passenger window in the limo wouldn't go down (worked when we got it) - we bought a new window motor, new module, etc. - took both doors apart to try to swap out modules, and after hours and hours of work we figured out that there was a cut wire in the door jamb harness. Took 15 minutes to soder/fix. Frustrating to do all the other stuff for nothing, but it's working now!

    3. No challenges yet, gotta wait to start showing the cars.

Well, I have had my first client for a long while. This is actually a barter deal where I am going to be setting up their phone system for them (they are buying it themselves), and they will be doing some legal work for (as they are lawyers by trade, but have a non-legal venture they are working on). So, that is great, but I need money too.

I have been working with my real estate agent on this one. She has got to be the best real estate agent in the world. I have no idea how she is able to manage her time, but she is the branch manager of a real estate office, the president of MIBOR (the Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors), and lobby's real estate laws. She is also on the Mooresville (a suburb of Indianapolis) Chamber of Commerce. She has a lot of contacts. I have done work on her computer for her for about four years. It gives me a little side money, here and there, but her computer is doing great, so not much lately. However, I have made a deal for her to spread the word about my company in exchange for free credits for computer work. Basically, I am giving 5% commission on contracts that people refer to me. She did not want to take my money, so I told her that I would convert that 5% into credit for service.

I want to have three retainer clients by January. At that point, I can quit my job. Five to eight is my target range, however. I am thinking that I may be able to actually get more clients, as well, if I can get it to the point where most of the support is remote. Then I can hire someone to handle remote calls and do 50+% of the support work, while I grow the business.

I have another blog I started this past weekend as well. I like these blogs, because I am just writing about stuff I usually think about. I have a few regular readers already, as well. I am not making much money, yet, however. I think it could take off in a couple of months, though.

Well I am just waiting to get my site launched in full and just see what happens next. Then I have alot of other idea to grow the website and also maybe starting other business's but I have to focus on growing this right now. the site hasn't made money yet but I should be ok, I am trying to just basically try and get more exposure the lines that really want it and also just making a site were people can check for updates every few weeks, it isn't a blog or something updated daily.

This week has been -- i think -- the best week sales wise since i launched Paws Up Pet Supply (havent exactly added everything up.

I have been very busy this week - i had to enter item numbers and weights into each of the products on our site. I got my sister to help me (paid of course) and between the two of us it took us about 40 hours. to finish. I also am in the process of getting all of our prices lowered to be the cheapest online. I just negotiated new discounts with my suppliers to be able to do that. Sales will double at least once we lower our prices to the lowest on most of our products. I also am in the process of opening a new store in the next couple months - petsupplydude.com - one of the logo concepts is attached ... let me know what you think.

Thats been my week in a nut shell -- I go back to school on monday so this weekend is going to full of fun :) I only have school two days a week though, so i am able to still run my business.

    Cheers,

Good job! everyone. As for me, I finally just finish my new office.

This week is busy. I have 5 projects on hand. I just finished my office. My web hosting & domain are booming. A lot of people are switching to my services because of support, they want to have control, reliability, and of course to save some money. I have to walk them through how to order and etc....

My challenge today is to create the system online so I can monitor every minute of my time, my projects, and my financial transactions. I'm thingking of updating my site http://SalvadorValenzuela.com and use it as my portal for schedules, projects, bookmarks, links, and etc...

Just starting a new business as we speak, so it has been nery hectic.
trying to design the website myself right now, but its becoming very frustuating. I am thinking I will just pay someone to finish it so I don't go crazy.

My deal cycle tends to be fairly long, so evaluating it weekly doesn't always give the best window into what's really going on.

Anyway, in a more general sense, business is pretty good in the sense that wealth is being generated at minimal risk to capital. I suppose that's really all I can ask for. By almost any outside standard, my margins are positively insane, I'm just not getting as much business done as I would like, due in large part to constraints on capital, time, and physical space (just like anyone else).

So yeah, I like to ramble. Business is good though.

If i dont get up by 8 every morning I am feeling sleepy all day. The days of sleeping in are behind me, I am just in the habit of getting up early and getting a start on things whenever I can.

Yeah. Im not actually old enough to play yet, but my dad lets me play a lot on his account. I seem to do better in free-rolls than cash games.
